Over the Weekend, Varsity soccer traveled to the Jersey Shore, taking on Paul VI High School at Maxwell Field in Wildwood. Getting out to a hot start, Devon took the lead and didn’t look back. Earning the shutout on the Road, Devon secured the victory over Paul VI 7-0. After some team bonding on Saturday, the team returned to the pitch on Sunday, taking on Franklin Towne Charter. Devon again got ahead early and never looked back. The Tide took down the Warriors on the road 10-0.
Leading the way for the Tide this weekend was Scott Cunningham, tallying seven goals in the two contests. Coach Green on this past weekend trip: “The trip was used to bring the boys together away from their comfort zone and allowed us to install our methodology going into PCL play.”
Soccer returns to the pitch on the road at Archbishop Ryan on Wednesday, September 9th, as they kick off at 7:00 PM under the lights. Junior Varsity will play before the Varsity game at 5:00 PM.
